On February 19, Gao Fei, CEO of Mengniu Dairy, met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach at the National Museum of China. The two sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on key topics such as how to promote the Olympic spirit and enhance the integrated development of culture and sports. They shared a common expectation that the Olympic platform would better enable Mengniu to promote Chinese culture to the world.
Mr. Bach highly praised Mengniu’s steadfast support for sports over the years and its outstanding contributions. He congratulated Mengniu on the successful debut of “China Night” in Paris and expressed his full support for every future edition of the event, to promote the integration of traditional Chinese culture with the global sports industry.
The Olympic Games is a premier global sports arena and a grand stage for cultural exchanges and the Olympic motto of “Faster, Higher, Stronger—Together” shares many commonalities with Mengniu’s corporate spirit of “Born for Greatness.” Gao Fei noted that since becoming a Worldwide Olympic Partner in 2019, Mengniu has embraced the Olympic motto, providing world-class products and services that “give you the strength to power on” and fully supporting the development of sports.
For many years, Mengniu has been committed to nourishing every sports enthusiast with its nutritious products, truly contributing to the sustainable development of the global sports industry. Through comprehensive brand activities, Mengniu has deeply integrated its “Born for Greatness” spirit with sportsmanship. From the FIFA World Cup in Russia and Qatar to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as well as women’s football and youth football games in China, Mengniu has consistently shown concrete support for those striving for greatness.
During the meeting, Gao Fei presented Bach with a special gift—a replica of a Western Han Dynasty bronze rhinoceros vessel with inlaid gold and silver cloud patterns. This bronze artifact, with its cultural richness, serves as a bridge connecting Olympic culture with Chinese culture. During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Mengniu hosted an event on the banks of the Seine River, featuring a fashion show showcasing the traditional costumes of China’s 56 ethnic groups and a Mongolian dance performance on the streets, presenting splendid and diverse Chinese culture to the world. At the Mengniu-sponsored “China Night” event, Chinese culture once again took the spotlight, captivating the international guests with the Morin Khuur performance “Ten Thousand Horses Galloping” and the Peking Opera performance “Red Maid,” among others.
Bach also presented Mengniu with three precious gifts: the IOC President’s Trophy, a special commemorative medal and a participation medal for Paris 2024, as a recognition of Mengniu’s contributions to the Olympic Movement. The participation medal was specifically awarded to Gao Fei in appreciation of his active involvement in Paris 2024, particularly his significant contributions to the “China Night” event.
This meeting was of great significance. It not only served as another testament to the long-standing friendly cooperation between Mengniu and the IOC but also outlined a more promising blueprint for future exchanges and cooperation in the fields of sports and culture. Looking ahead, under the guidance of its “One Core, Two Wings” strategy, Mengniu will continue to advocate “Born for Greatness,” fully support the healthy development of sports in China and globally, tell China’s stories well, and share Chinese wisdom with the world.
